We, the sisters of UMCP aKDPhi, would like to share our support and advocate for the Black community by condemning police brutality and institutional racism. It is important to be actively anti-racist, educate yourself and one another, and take concrete action.
Our sisters and alumni network have raised over $1,650 individually, with General Assembly matching our donations 3:1 to a total of $4,400. The proceeds were distributed to the Black Lives Matter Foundation, NAACP, National Bail Out Fund, Race Forward, Southern Poverty Law Center, and a damaged DC Community pharmacy's GoFundMe.
Below is our official statement written by our sisters, and additional resources how you can make a change in yourself and the world.
